As you can see by the green arrow in this picture, the center tube is slid all the way in until the hole in the end cap slides onto the air fitting welded in the exhaust tube. Perfect alignment! The GEET gases flow in the opposite direction as the exhaust flow so this will be the exit point for the GEET gases on their way to the intake of the engine.
