This video shows the conditioning of the tubes with pure distilled water after a mistake using pure tap water. Tap water after only five minutes became brown drawing more than 20 amps. To prevent overheating I stopped the run and flushed out the tube.

Using a battery connected to a battery charger improved gas production. Here I added a small amount of tap water which increased amp draw but developed some scum at the top of the water. Amps are still too high but unit is making good gas.
