In order to install one of these dry cells utilizing a negative ground pulser, like many you see on the Internet, you'll need to be sure it is insulated from the frame of the vehicle as shown in the diagram above. This would also be the same set-up if you reverse polarity and have the positive leads connected to the outside plates for some reason. If more bracing is added (recommended) to secure the cell from vibration, it also needs to be insulated from the vehicle chassis. The dry cell installed in my VW Beetle is mounted very much in this manner using a negative ground pulser
